MBEST Initiative is a regional economic development
effort focused on developing collaborative research-business
opportunities in the Monterey Bay Crescent region.
The Marina
Technology Cluster grows successful businesses
by delivering proven, rigorous business development services
to talented technology-driven entrepreneurs in collaboration
with our world renowned partners, including science, education,
government, and regional research institutions.
The mission of the Office of Small
Business Development Centers is to provide management
assistance to current and prospective small business owners.
SBDCs offer one-stop assistance to individuals and small businesses
by providing a wide variety of information and guidance in
central and easily accessible branch locations. The program
is a cooperative effort of the private sector, the educational
community and federal, state and local governments. The Office
of Small Business Development Centers is an integral component
of Entrepreneurial Development's network of training and counseling

The Central
Coast Small Business Development Center at
Cabrillo College offers a wide variety of services for
present and potential small business owners. The Central
Coast SBDC is dedicated to:
- Assisting with small business start-up
- Helping businesses expand and develop
- Promoting minority and women-owned business
- Creating and retaining jobs
Curious about the redevelpment at Fort Ord? Visit the Fort
Ord Reuse Authority. FORA is responsible for
the planning, financing, and implementation of the conversion
of the former Fort Ord to civilian activities.
Effective and meaningful student learning is the primary focus
at California
State University Monterey Bay.
Monterey County's Workforce
Investment Board is comprised of representatives
from private sector businesses, organized labor, community-based
organizations, local government agencies, and local education
agencies. The Workforce Investment Board provides policy
guidance, designate operators for their area's One-Stop
Career Centers, and oversees the job training activities
within Monterey County.
